John is on vacation!

Thu Apr 2, 2009, 1:05 PM
  • Mood: Spring Fever
  • Listening to: Howie Day
  • Reading: Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X
  • Drinking: Diet Mt. Dew
So starting this weekend, and continuing to next weekend, John is on vacation!

I plan to put myself through hell and back in completing:

- My Cocoa / Objective-C books, videos, and tutorials. I'm going to Apple's Developer Conference again this summer and I want to brush up before I go again. Last year some of it went over my head. Not this year. I'm going to build several tutorial apps for the Mac, as well as my iPhone.

- Going to finish our case tracking website at work. Lots of little things that need to be cleaned up. Once I had finished it they made a list of other things they want me to add. So, back into PHP I go as well. I wanted to just stick to Objective-C, but the good news is that PHP is essentially C, and Objective-C is just a superset of ANSI C, and PHP version 5 adds a lot to make it object-oriented like Objective-C is, so... I shouldn't have too much trouble weaving between the two. I can't just do one thing, ever, because I'm too ADD for that. I need at least two or three things going on to bounce between to keep myself happy.

Drawing? Probably not so much. Unfortunately. However, I may break the camera out though. Should be a lovely week. I'd hate to be inside the whole time.

sounds like a plan, although the computer stuff is just slightly over my head...
